NIH Grantsmanship Workshop

The goal of this half-day workshop is to provide participants with an introduction to writing a grant proposal for the NIH, specifically related to the radiological sciences. Topics covered include elements of a good grant proposal, understanding the review process, planning the proposal, and a Mock Study Section. The most recent workshop was held during the RSNA Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting, November 25, 2006.

NEW! Writing A Competitive Grant Proposal

A new grant writing program for researchers in radiology, radiation oncology, nuclear medicine, and related sciences who are interested in actively pursuing federal funding. Guided by a faculty of leading researchers with extensive experience in all aspects of grant applications and funding, the program will focus on developing realistic expectations of and tools for getting started on the grant process. Clinical Trials Methodology Workshop

This intensive 6½-day workshop is intended for faculty members, fellows, and fourth year residents in radiology, radiation oncology, and nuclear medicine academic departments. Investigators with an MD or PhD degree are eligible to apply. Applicants should be in, or plan to enter, a career track that will permit them to be a Principal Investigator on a clinical trial. Participants will learn how to develop protocols for the clinical evaluation of imaging modalities. Familiarity with basic concepts and techniques of statistics and study design is needed for all applicants. Over the course of the workshop, each workshop trainee will be expected to develop a protocol for a clinical study, ready to include in an application for external funding. The workshop will be held January 5–11, 2008 in Phoenix, AZ.
